ARCHITECT / DESIGNER

 

City Architecture is seeking an Architect / Designer to join our team. Our practice is wide-reaching and includes new residential, commercial, mixed-used, and historic renovation projects as well as planning and urban design. 2019 marks our firm’s 30th anniversary, and we look forward to growing and diversifying our practice.

We are looking for someone excited to bring fresh ideas and be a team player. The ideal candidate will exemplify design stewardship, have a collaborative attitude, and have an interest in multi-family residential projects. This position offers many opportunities for growth and development, which will be accomplished by working with colleagues, experiencing a variety of project types, and participating in all phases of design and construction.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop sketches and working drawings, create construction details, prepare cost estimates, perform code reviews, make material selections, and write specifications

  • Present project concepts to clients and community stakeholders

  • Engage and correspond with clients, assist in managing client expectations

  • Oversee collaboration between interdisciplinary project team

  • Participate in the presentation of plans to governing and permitting authorities for design review, zoning and permit approvals

  • Observe construction projects in the field, attend job meetings with contractors, review and approve change orders, submittals, RFIs, and project closeout documents

 Required Experience

  • Professional Degree in Architecture or Landscape Architecture

  • Licensed professional or on path to licensure

  • Relevant experience with a focus on multi-family housing

  • Multiple softwares and interoperability between them: Revit, CAD, SketchUp, Vray, Adobe Creative Suite

CO-OP

We are always looking for Co-Op students to add to our team for a semester. We hire students at all levels with strong portfolios and a desire to grow professionally.

Students working for our firm will have the opportunity to work on a number of different projects that may range from urban design for neighborhoods to streetscape designs to an array of interesting architectural projects. Students will be challenged and supported with work that focuses on revitalizing urban communities and cores. Historic preservation, adaptive reuse, new construction and urban design (at a wide variety of scales) will keep you busy and engaged. Our studio environment, combined with our collaborative approach, provides everyone a voice in our firm’s design process. You will be involved in all aspects of design, production and interaction as we work to ensure a well-rounded co-op experience for all students. We are a fast-paced organization and you will work on most stages of project development across various project types.

Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is required. V-ray experience is preferred.
